Grass pavers turn a lawn into a stable, drivable base without pouring concrete or asphalt. The turf paver grid carries the weight of cars, RVs, and service trucks while soil and grass fill the cells — so water still drains straight through and the surface stays green. Landscape Discount stocks NDS EZ Roll flexible grass paver rolls for large areas and Tufftrack rigid grass pavers for high-traffic zones, plus parking spot markers to lay out spaces.
Every order ships free. Not sure which grass driveway paver fits your project? The comparison below covers load, coverage, and base prep, and the FAQ answers the most common install questions.

A grass paver is a load-bearing plastic grid that spreads vehicle weight across the ground while grass fills the open cells. Instead of compacting bare soil into ruts, the turf paver grid confines the fill and transfers the load down to a compacted base — so a lawn can double as a driveway, an RV pad, or overflow parking and still look like a lawn. Because the surface stays open, rain drains straight through rather than sheeting off, which is why grass pavers count as permeable pavers under most stormwater codes. You’ll also see them called grass block, turf block, or grass reinforcement mesh — all names for the same idea.
Two formats cover almost every project. Flexible grass paver rolls, like NDS EZ Roll, unroll fast over large areas and follow gentle contours. Rigid grass paver grids, like Tufftrack, snap together into a stiffer mat for concentrated loads and tight turning traffic. Add parking spot markers to lay out clean spaces on an overflow lot.
Roll goods
Flexible rolls that unroll fast over big areas and flex over gentle contours. Available in 4′×24′ and 4′×150′ rolls, they’re the efficient choice for larger grass driveways, overflow parking, and access lanes.
Rigid grid
Rigid 2′×2′ grids that snap together into a stiff mat, 1½″ deep. Built for concentrated loads and tight turning traffic — fire lanes, RV pads, and driveways that see heavier or high-turn vehicles.
Installing grass pavers — sometimes called lawn pavers or a geo grid driveway — is straightforward, and the base prep matters more than the grid itself. The steps below apply to both roll and rigid systems.
Dig out the soft topsoil to the depth your load calls for — typically deeper for driveways and RV pads than for foot traffic.
Add and compact an open-graded aggregate base in lifts. This layer carries the load; the paver just holds the surface fill in place.
Unroll or snap the pavers together over the base. Cut to fit around edges and curves; anchor as the product directs.
Fill cells with topsoil and seed or sod for grass, or angular gravel for a stone finish. Water grass in and keep off until it establishes.
Coverage depends on cell fill and roll size. Check each product page for coverage per unit, or use the coverage details listed on the EZ Roll and Tufftrack listings to estimate how many you need.
Yes. The grid holds tire loads off the soil so roots and crowns aren’t crushed, and the open cells let grass grow through at the surface. Choose a hardy turf species, fill the cells with quality topsoil, and let it establish before regular parking.
Rigid pavers like Tufftrack are built for vehicle and truck loads when installed over a properly compacted base. Load capacity comes from the base you build under the grid as much as the grid itself, so match your excavation and aggregate depth to the heaviest vehicle that will use the surface. Each product page lists its load rating.
Yes. Because the surface stays open, water infiltrates instead of running off, so grass paver grids are widely accepted as permeable pavers for stormwater and lot-coverage purposes. Confirm the specifics with your local code before you design to a credit.
Roll systems like NDS EZ Roll cover large areas fast and flex over gentle contours. Rigid pavers like Tufftrack snap into a stiffer mat that suits concentrated loads and tight turning traffic. For most residential driveways either works; heavier or high-turn traffic favors rigid.
For any surface that carries vehicles, yes. A compacted open-graded aggregate base is what actually carries the load and keeps the surface from rutting. Foot-traffic paths can use a lighter base, but driveways, RV pads, and fire lanes need a proper base built to the load.
