Paver Base Fabric Material · Monofilament Woven · Three Roll Sizes

Monofilament woven paver base fabric built to reinforce paver patios and driveways. The woven structure holds a clean separation between the aggregate base and the native soil below, so base rock stays put instead of punching down into soft subgrade. Water passes straight through, which makes it the fabric to reach for on permeable pavement work. High tensile strength suits both residential and commercial installations.

Why Base Fabric Matters

Permanent separation

Without a fabric layer, base rock migrates down into soft subgrade and fines work their way up into the base. The result is ruts, settling and a surface that fails years earlier than it should. A tight woven structure keeps the two layers apart for the life of the installation.

Built for real load

Lighter woven fabrics stretch and tear under aggregate load, letting rock punch straight through. At 365 × 200 lb grab tensile and 675 lb CBR puncture, this fabric holds its structure under rock, compaction equipment and vehicle traffic.

Less base rock

Installed correctly, a stabilization fabric spreads load laterally across the subgrade. That can cut the depth of base rock needed by up to 30% — real material savings on every project, not just on paper.

Water keeps moving

Permeable by design at 145 gpm/ft², with the flow-through rate permeable pavement systems depend on. Drainage stays intact while the base courses underneath hold their structural integrity.

Installation

  1. Prepare the subgrade. Level, smooth and compact the area before the fabric goes down. Remove sharp rocks and any other objects that could puncture the fabric during installation.
  2. Roll out and overlap. Unroll the fabric across the area and pull it taut. Overlap seams 18″ to 24″ depending on the strength of the subgrade, and secure with fabric staples staggered at roughly one staple per 5 feet.
  3. Backfill with crushed stone. Carefully place graded crushed stone onto the fabric. Properly installed woven paver base fabric can improve the long-term performance of the project by 50 to 70%.
