NDS EZ Roll Grass Pavers turn grass into a surface that carries vehicles. Flexible hexagonal cells arrive pre-assembled in a roll, unroll over a prepared aggregate base, and get filled with sandy loam so turf roots knit into the gravel below. The cell walls carry the wheel load, the root zone stays uncompacted, and stormwater keeps infiltrating instead of running off. Used for residential driveways, overflow parking, fire lanes, and emergency access where a paved surface isn't wanted or isn't allowed.

Need To Reinforce Tire Tracks In A Lawn?

The EZ4X24 and EZ4X150 grass paver rolls un-hinge down the middle of the 4' wide piece. That leaves you with two 2' wide strips, which are perfect for reinforcing tire tracks in a lawn. No cutting required.

06 Before you order

Installation

  • A 4"–6" aggregate base must be installed directly below the pavers. The grass roots grow into the aggregate and anchor firmly. Without a base, a "cookie cutter" effect takes place and the pavers can sink into the soil.
  • If an aggregate base isn't practical, consider the TT-24 Grass Pavers, which have a tapered bottom and can be placed directly over soil without sinking.
  • Best used where the subsoil infiltrates water. Poor-draining soil may require an underdrain.

Installation overview

  1. Evaluate subgrade. Verify soil strength and drainage; improve weak subgrades as needed.
  2. Build the base. Install a free-draining aggregate base per project loading — a fire lane and a light parking area are not the same build-up.
  3. Lay panels. Roll out the EZ Roll sections, lock the tabs, and trim to edges.
  4. Backfill cells. Use well-draining sandy loam, then seed or set sod; water and protect during establishment.
  5. Finish and verify. Check grades, cross-slope, and transitions to adjacent pavements.
Load capacity depends on the full section, not just the panel. For heavy vehicles or emergency access, follow the manufacturer's details for base thickness, subgrade prep, and edge restraint. Choose a soil mix that drains well to keep turf healthy and maintain infiltration.

A well-draining sandy loam supports both infiltration and turf vigor. Avoid heavy clays that hold water — they starve the root zone of air and undercut the permeability the system is designed to deliver. Edge restraint is recommended at perimeters and wherever traffic transitions to another surface, to hold alignment and protect turf edges.

Project
Community sports complex overflow lot, roughly 20,000 sq ft.
Problem
An extra 80–100 spaces were needed on peak weekends. Ad-hoc parking on turf produced ruts, mud, and dead grass.
Solution
EZ Roll Grass Pavers over a designed free-draining base. Two installation days covered the area — panels connected by top-down tabs, filled with sandy loam, then hydroseeded, with removable bollards guiding traffic.
