Tree Root Barrier Sheet Material
Manufactured from durable High-density polyethylene (HDPE), Root Barrier Sheet Material creates a water and root barrier to prevent costly damage to pavements, roads, and building foundations caused by water and roots. The 20-foot-long sheets are ideal for linear style planting applications, and can be cut to any length. They are equally suited for individual tree planting use.
Installation Instructions:
- Cut desired length of molded roll material and install directly alongside hardscapes for linear or surround planting. Overlap the ends to connect one raised rib. Use staples 2" apart if needed or compact with soil to secure both ends. Install by circling the root ball for surround
application.
- Vertical root deflecting ribs should always be facing the root ball.
- Always install the root barriers 2" above the grade to prevent root penetration above the barrier.
- Recommended for linear or surround planting applications. Back fill with existing native soil. If necessary for drainage, use gravel or crushed rock. Avoid backfill sized less than 3/4" or greater than
1-1/2". Finish to grade. Do not distort barrier during installation.
